Welcome to Kitchen Pro’s kitchen measuring guide, this guide will take lead you through the simple process of obtaining your kitchen’s dimensions, and the available space for cabinets.

First, you will need to create a drawing of your kitchen, please click here for a printable drawing sheet After you have printed the drawing sheet, the next step will be drawing your walls.
Measure every wall from side to side, preferably on the floor, using a standard tape measure, and then mark it on the drawing.
After marking the walls, make a note of the wall number on the drawing
your drawing should similar to one of the drawing below: |

| If your drawing does not match one of the above drawings, don’t worry. not all kitchen configurations are the same. As long as you have walls drawn that match your kitchen configuration, you are on your way. |

The next step will be to mark on your drawing all the openings in the kitchen, openings refer to all windows, doors, and wall cut outs.
The measurements needed are: the opening width, height, and distance from the wall, please specify the wall you are measuring from, and number the openings.
When measuring, make sure you measure from the outside trim of the window, like the following sample: |

| After marking the openings, your drawing should look something like that: |

The next step will be marking the existing or desired water and gas plumbing, measure the distance from the wall to the plumbing location and mark it on the drawing, your drawing should now look similar to the following: |
